Amateur Photographer magazine invites amateur photographers from around the world to enter its annual competition and the chance to win the title of ‘Amateur Photographer of the Year 2020’.
Amateur Photographer is the world’s oldest consumer weekly photographic magazine, first published in October 1884. Since then, AP (as it is affectionately known to its readers) has been the bible for both amateur and professional photo-enthusiasts around the world. It has helped generations of photographers to improve their skills.
Look out for AP in your newsagent on sale EVERY week, so it’s always the first with the latest news and reviews on cameras and equipment as well as the largest and most up-to-date marketplace for buyers and sellers.
Amateur Photographer magazine is also available in digital format, for your iPad or mobile device: in iTunes, Kindle, Nook, Google Play and Zinio.

Prizes:
The overall winner will be awarded the coveted title ‘Amateur Photographer of the Year 2020’, and Sigma equipment of their choosing worth £2,000. The expert judged winner of each round (as voted by the AP team of experts) will win Sigma equipment of their choice, up to a value of £1,000 (based on Sigma’s RRP) and the crowd vote winner of each round will win a one-year digital subscription to the magazine and a one year Master subscription to Photocrowd.

The 8 categories are open to Amateur* photographers of all ages and nationalities.

All imagery MUST be the exclusive work of the submitting photographer and may not include any element that is the copyright of another. The Copyright for each image entered will remain with the submitting photographer. By entering the Competition and submitting your photograph(s), you hereby grant the Promoter, its sponsors and their hosting partner Photocrowd a non-exclusive, irrevocable license to use your photograph(s) for any purpose connected with the Competition, including (but not limited to), promoting the Competition within printed and online media, the inclusion within printed and digital versions of any Competition book, the inclusion within printed and digital versions of any Competition calendar or other merchandise, display at exhibitions, use in press, promotional and marketing materials, social media networks and for the promotion of any future photographic competition in both print and online media.
